TP Vision, a Philips subsidiary that manufactures and markets audio and video devices, announced its new headphone models on Tuesday (7). In addition to the Fidelio and Go Series series, the company has introduced another innovation: the N7808 model, developed together with London-based sleep scientist Kokoon, the brand’s first sleep headset.

Philips N7808: sleep headphones

The new Philips N7808 is specially designed for people who have trouble falling asleep. “Sleeping buds” designed in partnership with UK’s Kokoon Technology only use a 6mm thick earphonemoving the main electronic components to a shallow closet located behind the head and not felt by the lying user, according to Philips.

The sensors inside the N7808 continuously monitor the sleep pattern and adapt the gradually reduced sound distribution while the user sleeps. The device works with a Kokoon app that monitors several vital functions and it comes with a battery that guarantees ten hours of autonomy.

In addition, external noises, which are often the biggest villains of disturbing sleep, have been specifically addressed: The earphones promise excellent sound isolation, as well as smart masking that uses white noise to smooth out external audio peaks. The device will be sold for $250 (R$1.3k)but it can be ordered for US$175 (R$910).
