The government is discussing with big business “a one-time voluntary contribution to the budget,” Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov said. According to him, such a contribution will not be a tax increase.
The Bell publication, previously recognized as a foreign agent, citing sources, reported that the government had offered companies to make a one-time payment to the budget in the amount of 200-250 billion rubles, and instead the companies proposed to increase the tax on income by 0.5 percentage points by 2023 (p. . p.), thus standing at around 20.5%.
“A voluntary contribution from the companies, yes, it is being discussed, a unique contribution. The fact is that the financial results of last year were very good and many companies, especially in the first half of the year, during the first three quarters, had very positive results. Now this issue is under discussion, I would say yes, ”Belousov remarked (quoted from TASS).
The Deputy Prime Minister has also stressed that “it is not a tax increase” and we are talking about large companies. However, he did not specify the amount of the contribution.
The Ministry of Finance has already announced a preliminary estimate of the federal budget deficit for January 2023. It amounted to 1.76 trillion rubles. The budget law provides for a deficit by 2023 of 2.93 trillion rubles.
