Kommersant writes about the release of House of Stories. The publishing house was founded by former employees of the Russian representative office of the Swedish Storytel service, which left the Russian market in October 2022.
The legal entity of the “House of Stories” is LLC “Everbuk”, the owner of which is the former general director of the Russian representative office of Storytel Boris Makarenkov. He is also the main investor in the project. Experts estimated the volume of investments in the launch of House of Stories at 30-40 million rubles.
The publisher’s specialization will be the release of fiction. The average print run will be 5,000 copies. There are already some 200 publications in the portfolio of the House of Stories. The replacement of the library will be the main cost item at the beginning of the project.
“House of stories” plans to recover in two years.
Swedish audiobook service Storytel opened its first representative office in Russia in August 2017. In October 2022, the company decided to leave the Russian market.
