Sony’s Walkman series has left its mark on the entire generation of audiophiles. The brand’s first device was launched in 1979 and revolutionized the world of technology, becoming one of the biggest commercial successes of the 1980s.
Now Sony is re-launching the Walkman with a focus on delivering “premium” sound quality. The new product model, called NW-A306, is a completely revamped version of the old devices of the Japanese brand, with an increasingly compact and modern design, following in the footsteps of new devices on the market.
The lightness and easy portability of the device, which weighs only 199 grams, makes life easier for those who want to use it on the street, just like the old Walkmans. The NW-A306 screen is 3.6 inches and has touch technology as well as supporting different file formats.
Focus on sound quality
In addition, Sony has placed great emphasis on the sound playback quality of the new Walkman, aiming for the highest resolution possible so that consumers can enjoy great music experiences. The product, for example, is equipped with Edge AI (which processes Artificial Intelligence algorithms on the device itself) and DSEE Ultimate (Digital Audio Enhancement Engine). Thus, the device automatically raises the quality of the songs.
On top of that, the Walkman NW-A306 has a battery that lasts 36 hours (for 44.1kHz FLAC files) or 32 hours (for 96kHz FLAC files), in addition to Spotify and Youtube compatibility. A significant increase over older Sony Walkmans.
Will the new Walkman come to Brazil?
Sony’s new music device has already launched in countries such as India, priced at US$315 (RS$1,660). But so far, there is no prediction that the product will come to the Brazilian market.
Considering that the company has cut many ties with the country and even stopped the production of mobile phones there, it is difficult to guarantee that the product will be sold in Brazilian territory. Would you like to buy the new Walkman?
