The Ministry of Digital Development prepares a program to support the export of Russian video games to China

The head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev spoke about the preparation of the program at a press conference in VK. As part of the program, Russian developers will receive support to export their game products to China.

“We understand that this can somehow compensate for exiting those markets where we have difficulties,” Shadayev said.

Today, VK announced its own investment of 1 billion rubles in the development of the basic version of the home game engine. The creation of the project will take three to five years, VK reported.

In November, Maksut Shadayev said that the Ministry of Digital Development expects to announce the developer of a home game engine by the end of the year. Currently, Russian game studios continue to rely on foreign software, Shadayev said.
