According to Mikhail Matasov, Deputy Director General of the enterprise, this should happen as early as June 2023. Initially, five unmanned tractors will be used for transport, each with an operator in the cabin.

A subsidiary of the company will act as the transport operator. KAMAZ plans to completely abandon the presence of an employee in the cabin by 2025.

Recall that the company has been developing autonomous trucks since 2015. In 2018, he successfully tested an autonomous truck on a closed road.

Shortly after, in 2019, KAMAZ tested an autonomous truck on a public road, and in 2020, the company presented a prototype of an autonomous electric vehicle.
