Apple Pay’s 0.1 percent and 0.15 percent fees may apply not only to consumers and stores, but also to credit card companies, financial authorities said. Apparently, both Apple and Samsung will charge them a fee for payments.
While Samsung has yet to comment on the arrival of Apple Pay in South Korea, it is speculated that Samsung Pay may lose a significant portion of its user base in the country. The service has been offered free of charge since its inception.
According to an industry source, “Samsung Electronics has launched a free service to increase and retain Galaxy smartphone users, but Apple Pay is changing the market and Samsung Electronics may consider charging.”
