“Yandex” opened access to the source code of the “Metrika” counter, the company’s press service reported. Now any developer has the opportunity to study it and use it for their own purposes.
Access is granted under the Apache 2.0 license. The counter is a key component of “Metrics”, they emphasize in “Yandex”. The posted code contains all the main functions of the counter, except for some modules.
Developers will be able to independently choose which features to add to the site, based on a number of indicators.
The company hopes that this step will help to involve the community of IT specialists in the development and improvement of Yandex Metrika.
This is not the first time that the company has provided access to the code of its products. Previously, Yandex published the code for a distributed database management system YDB.
Also, whatever is in the public domain is the CatBoost machine learning library and a framework for building highly loaded front-end applications.
