At a meeting with a major ad agency, Microsoft showed off a demo of the new Bing and said it plans to allow sponsored links in search responses, according to an ad agency executive who spoke about the meeting on condition of anonymity.
Microsoft expects more human chatbot responses on Bing to drive more users to search and therefore more advertisers. Bing chatbot ads can also provide more visibility on the page than traditional search ads. At the same time, according to Reuters, Microsoft is already testing ads in an early version of the Bing chatbot.
