The Association of Banks of Russia is going to send a letter to Roskomnadzor with a ban on servicing its customers via Telegram.

Vice President of the organization Alexey Voylukov said that the messenger does not provide personal data and payment information about users. There can be no data leakage.

The Association allows detection via Telegram in Roskomnadzor and asks not to prohibit the work of banks through this messenger, since this is a convenient additional operating tool, and it is just a replacement for banking customers who have lost their applications due to bypass.

All services are provided through an interface that takes users to an external browser. “Why is it not forbidden to use online banking through browsers such as Safari, Chrome, IE, Edge?” Voylukov noted.

We remind you that from March 1, instant messengers recognized by foreign citizens are prohibited from accessing money transfer payment services. [РБК]
