Wildberries has tightened the rules for selling dietary supplements (BAAs) on the platform. Previously, to start trading, it was enough for sellers to present a certificate of state registration, but now dietary supplements will be on sale only after online confirmation of the authenticity of the certificate.
The marketplace reported that since November 2022 it has refused to place more than 65,000 offers of dietary supplements and vitamins on the site from sellers who have not provided relevant documents confirming the quality of these products, Wildberries said in a statement.
The online platform has carried out full integration with the register of certificates of state registration of dietary supplements and vitamin complexes of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
In order to verify their products, when filling out the product cards, sellers must provide documents for the products, the authenticity of which is confirmed by special algorithms and reconciliation with the official state register. Products will appear on Wildberries only after confirmation of their originality.
Now Wildberries has about 70 thousand items of dietary supplements and vitamins that have passed online verification.
- In November 2022, the platform launched an additional verification of socially significant goods, which involves checking whether food, children’s products, cosmetics, and clothing have a certificate or declaration of conformity. Document verification is done through Rosaccreditation services.
- In February, Russian Post also began testing sales of vitamins and dietary supplements.
