That’s why dozens of Twitter employees were fired from their sales and engineering departments last week, according to sources at The Verge at the company and the victims themselves.

In line with the dismissal, Musk issued an internal mandate to change the way ads are targeted on his main Twitter feed within a week. Musk’s plan is to retarget Twitter ads to resemble Google’s search ads, which target mostly searched keywords rather than activity and user profile data.
