I have been walking with the Apple Watch Ultra for three months. They are generally unkillable (checked yesterday)

In December 2022, I changed my Apple Watch Series 7 to the new Apple Watch Ultra. The first days there were fears that we would not make friends with the new Apple gadget: this watch was too different from the usual Apple Watch.

A week later, I wrote about my impressions, and all of them were taken into account. All fears were in vain – “ultra” turned out to be at normal convenience and more practical than any other ordinary Apple Watch, both in planetary daily wear on the wrist, and in planetary autonomous. Three days do not download the Apple Watch, but I can not earlier!

However, now I want to tell you about the durability of the Apple Watch Ultra. And yesterday, the watch had a real drop test, though spontaneous. And the watch handled the fall perfectly. I’m telling.

The day the Apple Watch Ultra could have shattered

On a typical weekday, I left the house as usual with the Apple Watch Ultra on my wrist. They are usually used with an orange Apple strap, which goes well with the activation of the siren and flashlight of the same color.

Arriving at the office, I took off my watch and put it next to me. I always do this when I wear a silicone strap, because it has metal fittings that can scratch the body of the MacBook when typing.

And then at some point I had to go down the stairs and meet the courier. I got up from my chair and grabbed my Apple Watch Ultra and left the office, fastening my wrist strap as I went.

And the unexpected happened: due to the growth of the case, the watch slipped from my wrist and crashed onto a granite step. And then merrily galloped another or four or five steps.

Frankly, I went cold at the thought that the screen probably did not survive the volume of such a test. It’s no joke, the Apple Watch Ultra weighs 61.3 grams plus how much the strap weighs. Hours of falling from the height of my head, which is about 1.7 meters. Yes, they not only fell, but also counted several steps of the granite staircase.

All these thoughts flew through my head in a few seconds, during which I made long-suffering hours with the floor. Picked up, started to conduct. And you know what?

The screenshot was completely intact. Moreover, there were no scratches, chips or scuffs on the case. But I saw with my own eyes that the clock fell on the granite exactly sideways.

Looking back at their confident comparisons to the Apple Watch Series 7, they certainly wouldn’t have survived such an ordeal. I remember how the screen was covered with small scratches already a month and a half after the purchase, and six months later, from somewhere, such an obligatory scuff appeared on the aluminum case.

After this dive, I fell in love with my “ultra” even more. This is truly the most reliable model from the entire line of Apple smartwatches, which also looks great on the wrist.

So if you are afraid to take the Apple Watch Ultra for any of the reasons written above, I assure you: this is not true. You will get used to them very quickly and will wear them with pleasure.
