Additionally, 48% of all codebases analyzed by Synopsys researchers contained high severity vulnerabilities, already have documented evidence of exploitation, or are classified as malicious code execution vulnerabilities.

Aerospace, aviation, automotive industry, transport, logistics; educational technology; and the Internet of Things are three of the 17 industries included in the report where such source code is available in 100% of verified codebases,” the researchers write.

Chapaev, previously the leader of the pro-Russian hacker group Phoenix, told reporters how and how much money the hackers got. Spoiler alert: they don’t have millions.
