The name of the project is RoboRoyale. It focuses only on the queen bee, not the entire colony. The idea is to show how supplementation of one key organism can stimulate an entire colony.

The multi-robot system, which the team hopes to begin testing in the coming months, will eventually learn to groom in a way that optimizes the production of pheromones, substances that affect the queen’s egg laying and hive behavior.
