It was proposed to reduce several times the limit of free bank transfers between your accounts

Russian banks have taken the initiative to reduce the limit on bank transfers between accounts owned by the same person from 1.4 million rubles a month to 300-600 thousand rubles. It is reported by RBC with reference to two financial market sources.

The publication notes that a significant reduction in the limit is supported mainly by large state banks (Sberbank and VTB), which do not want to lose income from transfer fees. Banks estimated the possible loss of profit from this item at 300-900 million rubles a year.

The Bank of Russia proposed to set a limit on free transfers of 1.4 million rubles. The bill on the ceiling in this amount passed the first reading in the State Duma in December 2022.
