From 0% to 100% in 5 minutes: Redmi presented ultra-fast charging for a smartphone

The unprecedented smartphone charging technology was developed by the Chinese company Redmi, according to GSM Arena.

For the demo, the device maker used a modded Redmi Note 12 Discovery smartphone with a 4100 mAh battery. From 0% to 50%, the device charged in 2 minutes and 11 seconds, to 100% in less than 5 minutes.

Redmi technology supports charging up to 300W. However, at peak power, the charge lasts only a few seconds, after which it slows down slightly, the post noted.

Redmi has become the first company in the world whose smartphone can support charging of more than 200W. Redmi introduced such a device in October 2022 – Redmi Note 12 Explorer can support charging of up to 210W.
