The Australian association of the British defense company BAE Systems, together with the company Innovaaero (Brunei), presented at the air show in Avalon (Australia) their latest development – a hybrid military drone with vertical takeoff Strix.
The drone can be folded down to a size of 2.6 x 4.5 m, which allows it to be transported in a shipping container. Boats on the ground can withstand a payload of 160 kg and cover a distance of more than 800 km.
The Strix Air Show features a multi-role UAV that performs an attack drone equipped with air-to-ground missiles, aerial reconnaissance, and also as a wingman in a function group with combat helicopters.

The insane glider has a number of features. Also, the same name is the same as the name of the world, which is the case when X-wing is a custom type. Large-diameter rotors are installed at the ends of the wings. The front undercarriages are somewhat longer than the rear ones, which makes the Strix move on the ground with a raised nose.
The drone does not need a runway to take off and land. After starting the engines, it rears up and rises vertically, and then lands, and also rests on supports.
In addition to the payload, Srix can carry other payloads. It operates both autonomously and remotely from an M113 armored personnel carrier, an MQ-28 jet drone, a ground station or an airborne helicopter to monitor its crew protection in a combat transport.
