There are seven factors for brain and heart health. These factors are also known as the “7 simple rules of life”. Between them physical activity, proper nutrition, maintaining a healthy weight, not smoking, maintaining normal blood pressure, controlling cholesterol levels, low blood sugar.

The new study included 13,720 women. Their mean age at the start of the study was 54. After 20 years, 1771 people (ie 13%) developed dementia.

For each participant, the risk of developing senile dementia was reduced by 6% with a 1 point increase in the overall score (the more points, the more factors observed by the participants).
