The National Payment Card System (NSPK) worked out the protection of the new MIR payment card.
It calculates purchases using a QR code that is purchased on the user’s smartphone. The seller at the checkout reads the code and writes off the required amount.
The problem is that the QR is visible to everyone who is next to the person. It is for this reason that the code will be tokenized, that is, it will not contain card data, but an encrypted link to them.
When collecting this technology, the QR code is still the form factor of the Mir card and allows you to use all the convenient client options – make purchases using a smartphone, receive back and use other search engine banking issuers and payment systems.

It will be possible to generate a QR code and sell from mobile banks that issue MIR cards. This will happen on the basis of the details of the token, but not “plastic”.
Some banks have already gone through the testing phases and are recommending a new payment method to their customers. So, in Sinara such technical issues as the perception of QR in cardiovascular points are considered, in the Russian standard the perception system is also among the first.
PSB, Gazprom and Otkritie are also going to release functionality in 2023. [Известия]
