Since March 9, Avito Real Estate is switching to a transactional model in the category of short-term apartment rentals: the platform will participate in the transaction between the owner and the guest to ensure the security of payment. This was reported to RB.RU by a company representative.
Avito previously acted in the category of short-term rentals as a classic bulletin board, giving all users the opportunity to post and search for housing on the platform, but without participating in the transaction themselves. Now the site is switching to a new mode of operation to provide users with a guarantee of payment security and speed up the transaction.
According to Artem Kromochkin, head of short-term leasing at Avito Nedvizhimost, the site planned to switch to a transactional model within three years, but the exit of foreign players from the market forced the company to change plans.
for owners Avito collected all reservations in one section of the profile, provided the ability to set cancellation rules, introduced instant booking, which allows the guest to prepay the reservation without waiting for confirmation of the request.
You can connect insurance to the facility for the duration of the guest’s accommodation with the ability to compensate up to 300 thousand rubles of damage. Ads will be placed and renewed free of charge (only Avito commission of 15% of the cost of each reservation is paid). In addition, owners are promised 24-hour dedicated voice support.
guests The platform’s online booking model makes it possible to reserve and pay for apartments more quickly and safely without having to contact the owner or transfer the prepayment to a card without clear guarantees. The owner at the same time confirms the reservation within 12 hours and receives an advance payment only after the guest checks in.
The platform will gradually switch to full online booking: from March 9, within a month, 23 large cities and 30 nearby small cities in the country will start online booking in the entire “Apartments” subcategory. Later, it is planned to scale the service to all of Russia and other subcategories.
