DuckAssist is available both in the browser, that is, in a search engine that does not directly collect information about users, and as an extension. Search responses are generated automatically and data is collected from Wikipedia and other relevant sources such as Encyclopædia Britannica and others.

When the answer is ready, an icon with a magic wand and the “Ask me” button will appear in the search engine. However, DuckAssist is not a chatbot, you cannot dialogue with the application.

While the development of the assistant is limited to “beta”, if the test is successful, the program will be available to all users.

DuckDuckGo assures that they do not collect user data, as with search engine and browser. The anonymity of the search and all data that the company exchanges with project partners OpenAI and Anthropic are preserved.
