Discord gains integration with ChatGPT; See how it works

Discord uses OpenAI technology to power the Clyde chatbot. From next week, the vehicle will be able to: chat with users, answer questions and suggest songs or GIFs. The community around the social network consists of game enthusiasts and developers.

The service will be free, but will initially be available to a select group of people. This care is important for optimizing the language model and avoiding unpleasant responses and completely out-of-context information, as seen in ChatGPT’s integration with Microsoft Bing.

Discord warns users that it could be Clyde. vulnerable to cyber attacks. Because of this, the platform loses out that no advice is asked or secrets and security issues are not shared. Based on feedback from alpha users, the company aims to improve the model and increase the accuracy and range of the vehicle.

Clyde was created a few years ago as Discord’s default chatbot responsible for sending welcome messages and other notifications to platform users. It also helps to manage the platform, create chat channels, manage user permissions and other administrative tasks.

Other AI features on Discord

Discord is testing other AI-powered features to improve user experience and server control. One such feature is AI-generated speech digest, which allows users to capture conversations they may have missed in communities with endless conversations.

The platform is trialling an AI-powered version of AutoMod, using language models from OpenAI to improve detection of inappropriate messages. The tool has already blocked more than 45 million posts that violate social networking rules.

Additionally, the company is testing prototype features such as an avatar remix app that uses generative image templates. Discord also dedicates ecosystem resources to incubation programs to help developers build AI applications for the platform.
