Atomic Heart (our review) creates a real sensation among gamers around the world.

At the release of the game, the tests even temporarily outperform the Hogwarts Legacy rating (our review). In the first week after the release, the novelty was in first place in the top Steam charts.

RBC decides what is known about the Russian game.

Approximate budget

The official cost of developing such a large-scale project is not disclosed. This is where experts differ.

RBC’s source in the video game market estimated the game’s budget at “at least $25 million.”

The general director of the organization of the video game industry, Vasily Ovchinnikov, compared the project at its own cost with Hogwarts Legacy, which cost the developers about $150 million.

It is the main competitor of Atomic Heart in terms of scale and release date, and the production cost is probably the opposite. In terms of ROI, the game entered the Xbox Game Pass subscription service before release, which, through a partial buyout from Microsoft, generated revenue even before release.

Just like the transfer of rights to VK Play for Russia, the money went before the release. High positions in the ratings of digital stores also have a positive effect. I think the game will pay off in the near future, if it has not already paid off.

Other opinions differ greatly. So, TelecomDaily believes that the budget is changing from 100 to 200 million rubles. Mark Khludnev, founder of Digital Church advertising agency, appreciated Atomic Heart annual marketing budget of 20 million rubles.

InterMedia Editor-in-Chief Yevgeny Safronov believes that the creators of the game will most likely play their game for “hundreds of thousands of rubles”. The authors of Atomic Heart do not disclose the terms of use of the songs.

On the official website of Mundfish, the investors of Gaijin Entertainment (games War Thunder, Crossout and Enlisted), as well as investment companies – international Gem Capital and Chinese Tencent are indicated.
