Kaspersky Lab specialists explain the figures by two factors, writes the Prime agency with reference to RIA Novosti.
First of all, cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, knowledge sharing and well-coordinated actions of providers and regulators in the country have proven their worth. As a result, phishing sites in the .ru domain zone have become more difficult to create and their life cycle has been greatly reduced.
Second, the attackers adapt their tactics and try to cover as many potential victims as possible: they use the most common domain zones and set up a geolocation filter. As a result, users from the Russian Federation and from other countries can see the same page in different languages, attackers use machine translation for this.
The company’s experts emphasized that the trend of switching to new domain zones continues in 2023.
By 2023, the number of cyber attacks on Russian companies will grow by at least 50%. Phishing, malware, DDoS attacks, data breaches, and inadequate employee protection are the top business cybersecurity concerns this year.
To protect businesses from cyber threats, businesses should take a wide range of measures, including regular security audits, installing security software and updating security systems, regularly training employees on cybersecurity, etc., to protect companies from cyber threats, analysts say.
