The head of the company, Mark Zuckerberg, announced new layoffs in Meta* (the organization’s activities were recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation) in a speech to employees. The Washington Post also writes about this.

Meta will lay off 10,000 people and close some 5,000 jobs. According to the newspaper, a reduction in the personnel department will be announced this week, in April the company will start laying off employees in technical departments.

According to Bloomberg sources, Meta is laying off staff due to poor financial performance. Interlocutors with the agency said that top managers were asked to compile lists of employees who could be laid off first.

In November 2022, Mark Zuckerberg announced the layoff of 11,000 Meta employees, or about 13% of the workforce, the largest downsizing in the company’s history.
