“These models have been completely redesigned inside, they have modern engines and automatic transmissions,” TASS quotes Varlamova as saying.
According to a Citydrive representative, the updated Volgas are “very powerful” so they will only be rented to experienced drivers who are familiar with driving such cars.
Cars are most likely to appear on classic rentals or long-term rentals.
“We will analyse the driver’s experience and provide detailed instructions to ensure that the driver will be able to drive this car,” the carsharing public relations director added.
The GAZ-24 “Volga” is a Soviet executive class car, mass-produced at the Gorky Automobile Plant from 1968 to 1986. GAZ-3102 is a modernization of the GAZ-24 model, produced from 1981 to 2008.
