Are you from the Stories team or are you from the streaming team? On Instagram, there are those who advocate the other, but there are those who use both features and work with all the formats available in the application. In any case, the social network owned by Meta (the parent company of Facebook and WhatsApp) is looking for improvements to cover both those who use stories more and those who prefer feeds. And it looks like there’s another one on the way.

According to Twitter user @Alex193A (Alessando Paluzzi), who describes himself as a developer, Instagram would be testing a new feature that would include feed and stories. In it, people can quickly access stories even if they are browsing the platform’s feed. As the image shared by Paluzzi reveals, when scrolling through the feed, a small box with stories will remain visible and accompany the user during their experience.

To look:

Right now, we’re moving away from the stories as we explore the feed and scroll down. To see them again, we need to “give up” the bait and return to the top of the application by clicking on the house icon or manually swiping back. With this new functionality, you don’t have to do any of that as the stories will remain visible and accessible even through broadcast.

In this way, Instagram will keep the user experience more agile and simple, cutting corners while keeping one of its main features on the agenda, which is stories. For now, the social network hasn’t officially announced anything or who will be available to test the new feature. Therefore, there is also no estimation of when the innovation will be available to all users.

As such, we can only wait to see if the feature actually works and if it’s available to the public.
