One of the features of Apple’s desktop perception system allows you to create different user accounts. Many consider this Mac feature to be the whole family or office under one account.

Now let’s deal with all accounts on Mac, their rights and interests. You can quickly differentiate access and use macOS correctly.

📌 Thank you restore for useful information. 👌

What types of accounts can be created on macOS

1. Administrator. This is an account with the maximum set of rights and opportunities. There must be at least one administrator account on any Apple computer. The first user that is created when you install macOS becomes an administrator by default.

The administrator can change all system settings, parameters of other users, accept and delete applications both for his own account and for accounting for other types.

It is strongly discouraged to assign automatic login without entering a password for an administrator account. So, if the computer falls into the wrong hands, all the data on the German request will be received by tricks.

2. Standard. This is the most common type of account entry when you want to keep multiple users’ data separate without making it too broad. Standard accounting is suitable for different families or work colleagues.

A user with such an entry can change some system settings, receive and delete applications, and work with common data.

The Standard account does not allow you to access data from other accounts, change their settings, or include new users.

3. Only general access. This type of registration is required to use Mac Sharing User Access. Shared users have access to all shared folders and data on the Mac over the network when it was turned on.

Settings are available in the macOS options sections: Sharing a file, General screen And Remote control.

Using such an entry, it is impossible to log in to the computer.

4. Group. This is not a separate account, but a set of rights that can be granted to one or more users. The group does not have a password.

First you need to create a new group, and then configure its rights in the section General access system settings.

With the help of groups, for example, you can give all standard accounts rights to one or more folders with data from Administrator accounts.

5. Guest. This is a separate type of accounting record with a limited set of access rights. Guest account so that friends, relatives or colleagues can temporarily access the computer and work on it.

The guest entry, by default, does not have access to the specified, settings, and applications of other users. In addition, Internet surfing restrictions can be set for it (if the recording is used by children).

An important feature is the complete deletion of all data and resetting the guest system after registration. In such accounting, it is not possible to find any data on the computer; after completion of work, everything important must be saved on the network or on a removable drive.
