The chipset is designed for gaming, audio, video, 5G and Wi-Fi. For the first time in the Snapdragon 7 series, the innovation includes support for 4G/5G Dual-Sim Dual Active (DSDA) for those who want to use two SIMs and Qualcomm Kryo CPU (up to 2.91 GHz).
The processor offers download speeds of up to 4.4 Gbps (X62 5G Modem-RF) and will It will launch later this month on devices from brands like Redmi and Realme..
Focusing on gaming, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is powered by: Snapdragon Elite Gaming as Automatic Variable Rate Shading (VRS)It optimizes performance by keeping the content in focus at full resolution and the landscape background at a lower resolution.
With volumetric rendering, it is promised that particles such as fog and smoke will become more real in games. Still, there’s Snapdragon Sound, which streams music losslessly without audio lag.
Audio and video
In terms of audio and video, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 can deliver dynamic photos and 4K HDR videos to devices in low light. The chip features an 18-bit triple ISP that allows users to shoot in “mega low light” mode — it captures 30 images and combines the best parts in one shot for brighter shots after dark.
According to Qualcomm, the chip has the power to make cameras capture more than 4,000 times data for extreme dynamic range with vivid color and clarity. The track supports cameras up to 200 MP and simultaneous HDR video capture from two cameras with triple exposure steps.
On the AI side, it could offer chip with integrated Qualcomm AI Engine 40% better performance per watt. As for the Qualcomm Sensing Hub tool, devices equipped with this technology can perform user activity recognition and acoustic scene detection.
Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 even allows AI Super Resolution to intelligently upscale low resolution game scenes or photos to higher quality (1080p at 4K).
