According to Russian law, all smartphones sold in Russia from 2023 must have a pre-installed native platform. Rospotrebnadzor is responsible for monitoring compliance with this requirement.

However, despite the positive news for RuStore, Chinese companies may be in danger of leaving Google services on their devices around the world to preload a domestic store.

That’s an important point, given that most smartphones run Google’s Android operating system and many apps and services depend on the search giant’s infrastructure.

RuStore is a platform for Android smartphones developed by VK with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development. The service launched in May 2022 and offers users more than 300 foreign apps.
