The most interesting thing is that the vulnerability numbered CVE-2019-18935 was discovered in 2019 and has a rating of 9.8 out of 10 (critical).

The hackers “successfully ran” remote code on the federal agency’s web server and gained access to its internal resources. The System Vulnerability Scanner was unable to detect the vulnerability because the Telerik software was installed outside of its normal scanning area.

According to US authorities, one of the groups involved in the attack is supported by the Chinese government. In response, Beijing has repeatedly denied accusations of cyber espionage against the United States.
