Our colleagues have learned that the technology itself is named Bobcat. Until recently, “natural language generation Siri” was used only for telling jokes and setting timers on Apple TV.

At the same time, the code for the new function has appeared on iPhone, iPad, Mac, HomePod, but so far it has not been activated anywhere outside of the Apple TV operating system.

While Apple’s testing of its natural language generation technology doesn’t necessarily indicate that the company is developing chatbots like ChatGPT, it does indicate that it’s moving towards more advanced artificial intelligence for Siri.

Recall that recently it became known that the latest GPT-4 language model was used in the Microsoft search engine Bing.
