The Duolingo language learning platform is working on a music theory app. It is being developed by a small team with a music consultant, TechCrunch learned.

Duolingo is developing a music theory app

The app will teach the basics of music theory using popular songs and teachers. There are no other development details.

In addition, it is not known if the development will become a full application or will remain at the level of a small Duolingo experiment.

In August 2021, Duolingo announced that it was working on a math learning app for kids. The app is intended for students in grades 3-8. The app was launched in the fall of 2022.

Duolingo’s revenue more than doubled, from $70.8 million to $161.7 million between 2019 and 2020. In 2021, Duolingo’s momentum continued, with revenue of $55.4 million in the first three months of 2021, nearly double for the same period in 2020 with $28.1 million.
