To understand how a person’s personality traits relate to life satisfaction, the researchers analyzed data collected in 2008-2019 as part of the Longitudinal Internet Research for Social Sciences survey. 9,110 Dutch people aged 16 to 95 participated in this survey over 11 years.

It turns out that many of the links between life satisfaction and personality traits remain unchanged throughout adult life. And the trait most closely related to satisfaction with life, career, and social connections, emotional stability.

Job satisfaction was achieved by the owners. honestyand from social connections – flexible extroverts. In addition, those who reported an increase in the manifestation of these qualities also spoke of increased satisfaction with life, work and communication.

As survey participants aged, the relationship between career satisfaction and emotional stability became moderately stronger.
