Like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Bing chatbot, Google’s product responds to user requests. However, given the propensity of these bots to add gags, the company emphasizes that Bard is not a replacement for a search engine.

As planned, the bot can serve as a source of inspiration, new ideas, and also simply act as an interlocutor. Google carefully describes the Bard on its blog as “an early experiment . . . designed to help people increase their productivity, develop their ideas, and spark curiosity.”
