Apple has released the Release Candidate (RC) version of iOS 16.4, which is currently only available for developer testing. Among the main innovations of the new iPhone operating system sound isolation feature for phone calls.

Registered users can download updates via the Developer Center. After that, beta updates will not require a profile and will be done directly on the device via an Apple ID linked to a developer account.

1. Sound insulation

The vehicle will be possible prioritize the user’s voice by blocking out ambient noise. This should improve call quality and allow the user to better hear the person on the other end of the line. Noise isolation is now available for VoIP calls using FaceTime, WhatsApp, and other apps on devices running iOS 15 or macOS Monterey.

Push notifications from web pages in iOS 16.4 are designed to work like notifications from other apps that appear on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch lock screen. Safari 16.4 offers support for managing these alerts to keep the user focused.

3. VoiceOver in Weather app

VoiceOver provides more detailed descriptions of weather conditions, temperature, and other weather information, including real-time weather alerts in the Weather app, keeping users aware of potential hazards.

4. Auto dimming

iOS 16.4’s auto-dim function should save battery life and prevent disturbance in low-light environments. The user can select the dimming time of the screen between 30 seconds and 5 minutes.

5. Duplicate images and videos

iOS 16.0 added a “Copies” album to the Photos app that identifies duplicate images and videos and helps you combine them for a more organized photo library. It’s the same tool, but will be available for iCloud Shared Photo Libraries.
