Organic dairy farms must meet certain criteria, unlike traditional dairy farms. Therefore, cows on such farms cannot be given antibiotics (unless they are sick) or growth hormone, the animal feed must be 100% organic and cows can fast on pastures for at least 120 days a year.

Many people buy organic milk because they believe it is more nutritious. But research suggests that this may not be the case at all.

A 2016 study published in the British Journal of Nutrition notes that organic milk contains more iron, healthy polyunsaturated fats (primarily omega-3), vitamin E, and less selenium and iodine. In addition, in general, iron and vitamin E are not found in this type of milk, so it is better to take it from other products.

A study published in Beverages in 2017 showed that drinking organic milk did not provide significant health benefits compared to regular milk. Also, both types of milk are fortified with vitamin D.

In general, there is no significant difference between regular milk and organic milk. Therefore, there is no point in spending more money on the organic option.
