In 2022, the Moscow Region (MO) exported four times more goods to the United Arab Emirates than the previous year, the regional Ministry of Investment, Industry and Science said. In monetary terms, the volume of deliveries is estimated at $454 million.

The export of goods from the Moscow region to the United Arab Emirates quadrupled in 2022

According to Defense Ministry Minister of Investment, Industry and Science Ekaterina Zinovieva, the department is actively increasing investment cooperation between the country and the region. This is especially true for strengthening the presence of companies from the Moscow Region in the UAE. The growth in export volumes testifies to the effectiveness of such work, notes Zinovieva.

“If in 2018 the Moscow region supplied $43.9 million worth of products to the Emirates, then in 2021 – for $120.9 million, which is 2.8 times the volume of annual exports four years ago. Exports to this country in 2022 increased even more significantly compared to 2021,” the head of the department was quoted as saying by the press service.

As of the end of 2022, the UAE ranked eighth among the top recipients of goods from the Moscow region. The bulk of exports were cocoa and cocoa products, as well as soft drinks, chemical fibers and vinegar.

According to the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, last year trade turnover between the Russian Federation and the United Arab Emirates reached record volumes. It amounted to $9 billion, which is almost 70% more than in 2021.
