The French group ADEO, owner of the DIY retailer Leroy Merlin, has decided to transfer the Russian business to local management. This is stated on the group’s website.

French ADEO will transfer Russian assets from Leroy Merlin to local management

ADEO emphasized that the changes will not affect activities in the country and will not affect the work of 45,000 employees, all of whom will retain their jobs. Likewise, the decision will not affect the arrangements and agreements with the partners.

ADEO explained that this step is the result of the work that, in accordance with international standards, the company has been carrying out for several months. The deal must be approved by the relevant authorities.

With the outbreak of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, many Western companies left the Russian market as a sign of condemnation of the actions of the Russian Defense Ministry. Some of them left permanently, others transferred assets to the local administration. The latter, in particular, include L’Occitane and Electrolux.
