In December 2022, Xiaomi introduced the flagship Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. The global announcement was made at the same time at the end of February this year, and the devices began to be sold in March.
You can find the main features of Xiaomi 13 below. In general, at first glance it seems that this is a very modern flagship. However, there are not many changes in this model compared to the Xiaomi 12.
As for the kit, in the box of the smartphone there is also a cable, a case, a paper clip, documents, a 67 W power supply (charge). You can only insert SIM cards into the SIM card tray – the memory cannot be expanded. A protective film is already glued to the smartphone itself.
The manufacturer promises that the device will be charged to 100% in 38 minutes (battery capacity – 4500 mAh, charging power – 67 W). But the experts of the YouTube channel managed to fully charge the Xiaomi 13 in 44 minutes.
Having autonomy thanks to the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, the Xiaomi 13 should not have any problems either. You can see the dimensions below. The charge as a whole is enough for 6-7 hours of screen operation, but actually not enough. In addition, this smartphone has another unpleasant feature: it will be hot when performing any task.

The screen of the Xiaomi 13 is quite good in terms of features. This is an AMOLED E6 matrix with a diagonal of 6.36 inches and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz (touch – up to 240 Hz). In addition, the maximum brightness on the street is 1900 nits (actually – 1800 nits). But the minimum refresh rate is 60 Hz and does not drop any further. Perhaps this is due to the fact that the device is constantly under load.
Also, as tests have shown, the maximum indoor brightness of this smartphone is not 1200 nits, but 800 nits. At the same time, the Xiaomi 13 tends to lower the brightness under load.
Also, adjusting the refresh rate in 120 Hz games does not always work correctly. For example, even if you put it in Brawl Stars, the game itself will say you are playing at 60 Hz.
Xiaomi 13 is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, but there are problems with it. It overheats and starts to throttle. In general, this smartphone has three main problems with games in real conditions (not in tests). The first is 120 Hz in games: This refresh rate cannot be adjusted everywhere. The second problem is a decrease in the screen refresh rate when playing games (due to the load), the third is a decrease in screen brightness when heated.
In Genshin Impact, we managed to get 60fps at maximum graphics settings, and Brawl Stars – 90fps. In general, the smartphone managed to warm up to 46 degrees. When heated, FPS drops in both games.

The selfie camera has different modes. But the classic mode with effects makes the skin very smooth compared to texture mode without effects. Therefore, it is better to shoot everything in the second mode. Another disadvantage of the front camera is that it sometimes gives an awkward frame around the head in photos: this effect is more typical for budget smartphones. Even the background in the pictures comes out overexposed even if there is not much backlight.
Main cameras shoot very differently in general. You can find its features and photo examples below. And even when compared to the Xiaomi 13 Pro – the Xiaomi 13 looks quite flawed (and in general, its photos look like a mid-range phone). The difference in image quality is even more pronounced when compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
When shooting video, switching between lenses on Xiaomi 13 can only be done at 1080p 30 fps. In all other modes this cannot be done. But at the same time, the smartphone can record 8K 24fps video.

According to the presenter, Xiaomi 13 is one of the most annoying smartphones. Although it is quite compact. And the Xiaomi 13 Pro lies much better in the hand.
The fingerprint scanner in Xiaomi 13 is also very inconvenient: it is too low. Although it works quickly and accurately.
Another problem with the Xiaomi 13 arose when it was necessary to distribute the Wi-Fi through this smartphone as an access point. It was impossible to bind anything to it via password (it showed it was wrong) and via QR code everything worked with glitches.
In all respects, the Xiaomi 13 fits the definition of a flagship. However, in reality this is not the case at all. In general everything inside works poorly. And you understand this when you use this device for a few days. For the most part, it looks like a standard mid-range phone, the Xiaomi 13.
