One of the projects, called HTE, will focus on the development of an engine that uses liquid oxygen and methane fuel. With six times the thrust of the M10, the M60 engine will use technologies similar to those used in SpaceX’s Raptor engine.
Another project, called STS, received funding to develop a small launch vehicle prototype using methane-oxygen engines. It is assumed that the device will be ready for the first launch in 2026. He said it will likely use a version of the M10 engine and launch a payload of about 200 kilograms into low Earth orbit.
