Fake GeForce graphics cards have been on sale in China for a long time, but NVIDIA has finally spotted it. The chipmaker is working with platforms like JD.com, Douyin, Pinduoduo and Tmall to remove elements from 51RISC, Corn and MLLSE, for example. These brands used to only issue cards for the domestic market, but are now available outside of China on Amazon or Newegg.
Fake video cards attract buyers with their low price, but can be dangerous for the computer. Some vendors repaint memory chips to make used cards look almost new. Others create hybrids of mobile GPUs and desktop PCBs.
NVIDIA recommends buying video cards only from official partners of the company, such as Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, Zotac and others.
