April Fools’ joke? This is apparently not the case. We’re talking about the case involving ASUS and the launch of its new gaming-focused console called ASUS ROG Ally on the first day of this month. Many people did not believe the brand’s statement due to the day when it was known that many jokes containing lies were on the agenda, but the product was confirmed by the company and got new details.
ROG Ally will be a console Will work with Windows and will be licensed to support stores like the Epic Store and Steam itself, as well as the entire Xbox Game Pass catalog. The item is the first portable gaming device in ASUS history and will feature a high-performance APU like Valve’s Steam Deck.

Rog Ally Hardware
Although ASUS does not give much details about the APU in question, a video prepared by youtuber Dave2D reveals what can be expected from the part for those who are interested. According to him, the product will be a Zen4 CPU and a 4nm APU with RDNA3 technology.
In addition, ROG Ally promises an incredible “full HD gaming experience” with a 1080p, 500 nits display and 16:9 aspect ratio. Another important point in ASUS product is that it should support ASUS ROG XG Mobile unit as it has XG connector.
Finally, the console is equipped with dual vent cooling, which should be much quieter than the Steam Deck. The new product produces 20 dB of noise, while Valve’s product produces 37 dB of noise.
Price and launch
For now, ASUS has not confirmed when the ROG Ally will hit the market or how much it will cost. However, as confirmed by Dave2D, the item will be available worldwide, not just in certain regions.
According to rumors on the Insider Gaming website, the model will come in two colors, black and white, and may be released in October. As for price, the ROG Ally would be sold in two variants: the 512GB model would cost $649, while the 1TB version would cost $899.
