The PickPoint parcel service has decided to stop working in Russia. The decision is due to the financial difficulties of the business. The company will deliver all previously accepted shipments and unclaimed cargo will be returned to customers by April 30, Kommersant learned.
In late 2022, PickPoint encountered difficulties with clients and counterparties. Since January 2023, lawsuits have been filed against the company for more than 433 million rubles.
According to the publication’s calculations, based on data from an arbitration case file, the total amount of claims for all pending claims against the company is now about 730 million rubles.
Denis Petrushevsky, general director of Halva parcel lockers, emphasized that PickPoint’s exit from the market opens up opportunities for the development of other companies in this area. According to him, for the last few years, Halva parcel lockers have been part of the PickPoint network. Since the fall of 2022, Halva has been developing its logistics, he added.
In 2022, the number of orders delivered grew more than 56% to 2.55 billion, according to Data Insight. However, the share of delivery through logistics services decreased by 12 percentage points and rose to 13%.
