MTS subsidiary bought Segmento advertising platform from AFK Sistema

Stream LLC (a subsidiary of MTS) acquired 100% of the advertising platform Segmento (Segmento LLC) from Sistema_VC, a venture capital structure of AFK Sistema. This was reported by the MTS press service.

The parties did not disclose the value of the agreement. For Segment customers all current processes will remain unchanged, specified in MTS.

With the purchase of Segmento, MTS intends to increase its participation in the advertising market. The transaction will make it possible to increase revenue at the expense of technologies of both companies that complement each other, he said on MTS.

According to the Unified State Registry of Legal Entities, the sole owner of Segmento LLC is Sistema Venture Capital Fund 1 LLC. At the end of 2021, Segmento received revenue in the amount of 893.6 million rubles with a net profit of 30.6 million rubles.

In February, MTS bought a 67% stake in the Buzzoola Group. MTS hopes that the purchase of Buzzoola will allow it to accelerate the development of its own AdTech division and increase its share of the advertising market.
