The jury of the World Car of the Year competition awarded the main prize to the Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric car. The representative of the Korean auto industry won in two more categories, beating the British Land Rover in voting for the best design.
The World Car Of The Year (WCOTY) competition has announced the winners for 2023. The Korean electric car Hyundai Ionic 6 received the award in the top nomination.
This is a fastback with an electric motor and an automatic transmission. Engine power ranges from 151 to 325 horsepower, top speed is 185 km/h. With the most powerful engine, the electric car accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.
The Hyundai Ionic 6 also won Electric Car of the Year and Design of the Year awards, leaving British automaker Land Rover Range Rover and American Lucid Air behind.
In 2022, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 was recognized as World Car of the Year, also receiving Design of the Year and Electric Car of the Year awards.
The World Car Of The Year competition is held annually. Its jury includes more than 100 automotive journalists from different countries.
