Taiwanese man claims he used ChatGPT to generate numbers that helped you win the lottery.

Pattavicorn Bunrin recently went viral after sharing details on TikTok about how he used an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI to generate numbers that he then used to play the lottery and win. According to Mashable, their strategy includes entering some what-if questions as well as some past winning numbers as a ChatGPT query.

Bunrin’s winning draw numbers were 57, 27, 29, and 99, and he won 2,000 THB (US$59). Although the prize was small, he told a local publication that he had used this strategy in the past to get lottery numbers. He added that ChatGPT advised him not to “fixate” on the method, noting that winning the lottery is a matter of luck, and also advised him to go out and work out a bit.

Bunrin plans to share more about his experience using ChatGPT to generate lottery numbers on TikTok. Of course, he will attract even more attention if he wins another big win. However, this may draw lottery companies into the ongoing conversation about the ethics of ChatGPT.

There have been varying opinions about the ethics and issues with ChatGPT since its inception in November 2022. Institutions such as colleges and universities have banned the use of the AI chatbot on the grounds that it could increase plagiarism and cheating on campus. Meanwhile, various industries including journalism, communications, arts and technology, among others, have adopted the service.

However, the implementation was not without madness. Publications using AI to create articles were found to silently publish snippets with inaccurate information, art intended to look like humans was missing limbs and fingers, and the GPT language model used by other companies became dishonest after publication. .

It’s hard to say what problems might arise if more people try to use ChatGPT as a lottery number generation method, especially if people want to boost their self-esteem by sharing online how they got their winnings.
