Clicking on links that mention substack.com now displays a warning that the link has been identified as potentially spam or unsafe by Twitter or its partners.
This comes after Twitter banned Substack users from embedding tweets in their stories and Substack launched its own “Notes” feature that adds Twitter-like elements to its feed platform.
Some journalists claim that Twitter is unhappy with this new feature, which is why the social network has begun to view Substack as a “hostile competitor.” Although the Substack link can be posted on Twitter, anyone trying to access it will have to click on the alert to go to the content.
Substack has yet to comment on this situation.
