The company has spent six years developing technology that provides more storage space, eliminating the need for loose ice or freezer bags.

Oyster says the Tempo refrigerator can keep up to 36 cans of cold all day long. Competitors using ice to keep items cold will require two-thirds of the area covered by the ice.

At $500, the Tempo is more expensive than other comparable refrigerators, but claims to make the equivalent of a portable refrigerator three times the size while being much lighter and easier to use.
